The North End New Bedford Community Resource Map

The Acushnet Avenue commercial corridor and greater North End New Bedford neighborhood is a wonderful mix of residences, small businesses, beloved eateries and municipal amenities.

It’s also where you’ll find a concentration of public benefit social services that embrace the diversity of this area of the city.

This new Community Resource Map brings those resources together in one place for the first time. It’s a special entry in the “Addressing The Ave” series by the Community Economic Development Center (CEDC), in partnership with Love The Ave and the New Bedford Community Connections Coalition (NBCCC).

The NBCCC is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF) and is an initiative of the United Way of Greater New Bedford. The mission of the coalition is to take a leadership role within the City of New Bedford in facilitating collaborative strategies to build neighborhood-based networks of family support to prevent child abuse and neglect, strengthen families, and build healthier communities. You can learn more here

The CEDC helps new immigrant families and long-term residents find their way to economic opportunities through skill-building, providing access to critical resources, and by promoting neighborhood revitalization. Visit their website here (and also find them on the map!)

And, Love The Ave is the collaborative community action group which promotes all things Acushnet Avenue and North End New Bedford. It was started by the MA Growth Alliance in partnership with the CEDC, and now the New Bedford Economic Development Center.

We all hope you find this easy to navigate North End Community Resource Map helpful, and welcome suggestions for future additions to it. Contact Steven Froias of Love The Ave at [email protected] with your ideas!

The North End Community Resource Map will be permanently placed on the Love The Ave website, lovetheave.com
